This GAD JF30ATB is on Goodwill now. Might be the ugliest pick guard I've seen yet. Not much guarding going on either.

I never have been able to warm up to that early GAD pickguard shape - imo perhaps
not the ugliest but surely right in there with 'em (n)
Was happy to see a more or less normal-looking Guild pickguard when I landed a Westerly Collection F150,
wondering if it has pretty much the same dimensions and body shape as the Goodwill GAD JF30.
Sweet guitar and damn comfortable to play, 1 3/4" nut does make a difference.

The GAD models from 2004 till 2011 were great guitars but all had that "somewhat ugly" version of a pickguard. Actually it is a kind of pickguard style for a cutaway body. Some owners changed it to a real Guild pickguard, some owners even added a "fake" Guild plastic truss rod cover to make the guitar look closer to a traditional Guild guitar. In 2012 the GAD series changed to the traditional pickguard but also some features got lost that were present in the original GAD series. The mentioned "Westerly Collection" models were another change in specs and they came out 2015 after CMG took over from FMIC.
