Two weeks ago I received a '73 F-30R, and after some setup work, it's just a lovely little guitar. Ebony fingerboard & bridge, black pickguard, marquetry striping on the back & endpin joint, chesterfield logo, and original hardshell case. As these seem to be rather rare, it's my first encounter with one, and it's a real pleasure to play.

On the heels of the above, today the brown truck brought a '92 D-6nt-hg (high gloss finish). This one is in mint condition with no signs of use. In the stock Guild hardshell case was a small Mel Bay "Learn the Guitar" booklet, so I'm guessing the owner gave up & simply put it away.

New Year's Eve is upon us, and what a fun way to end the year!

It's tough not to be tempted by Guilds.

After a long running love affair with Gibsons, the return to Guild has been like a summertime stroll pricewise. I certainly had no intent of buying two guitars in two weeks, but by golly, you're just about forced into doing it!

As we all love to rationalize, mine was that if I sneak this last one in at the end of the year, with twenty-seven guitars & two mandolins, I should be thoroughly done heading into the new year and straight towards retirement.

Any comfortable port in a storm will do!
