Just received a DeArmond T-400 in Tennessee Orange upon which I'll be changing the tuners. I'm leaning toward Sperzel locking type. I want to keep the tulip style keys. Anyone have something they particularly like for this guitar? If I recall the tuner holes are 10mm so that's a consideration as well.

Just curious why you don't like the tuners? Looks like the same as on my DA Starfire Special.

Nothing wrong with the tuners per se. I'm going with a set of Gold T-Armond pickups with white centers and want tuners that match the gold.

10mm is pretty standard. I recently bought some locking Schallers which are rock solid

Nothing to do with your question but I've found the DeArmond guitars to be pretty nice and a good bang for the buck. I have a Blonde X 155 with block inlays that I feel is really special and it plays and sounds really good as well.

Richard, I quite agree. The X-155 is a fun guitar; I wish I had mine back.

The T-400 is the holy grail of DeArmond guitars. I had a Starfire Special and thought the stock pu's sounded real good even though they are pretty much P-90's in DeArmond clothing...can't argue with a pair of TVJ T-Armonds though which really nail that vintage DeArmond sound.
