Hello, Does anyone have a template for the proper 1960's hoboken D40 truss rod cover? not sure if they changed at all over the years
I have some black plastic stock I'd like to make one and see how i do.
maybe a scan would be good i can print to scale.

Also, according to my luthier the guitar needs a neck reset, no saddle, poor angle, bad action, broken truss rod - waiting for my next dentist visit to ask him to xray it.

but i see a decent amount of bridge tilt so i was wondering if i could stave off the neck reset for a bit with a bridge doctor.

They come up from time to time on ebay or Reverb.

RE: your Bridge Doctor question: how much bellying of the top is there? (You can check by setting a straight-edge behind and parallel to the bridge and seeing how much higher it is in the center of the top versus the edges.)

While the BD is not meant to forstall a neck reset, it can help in that department if the bellying is pronounced. At least a couple of my guitars had severe bellying when I got them, and the BD, by flattening the top, lowered the bridge and brought the action down.

When the top bellies you may also see some lifting of the bridge and the saddle may tilt forward enough to throw off the intonation. Installed properly the BD will correct those problems. It all depends on much bellying there is to begin with.
