1. My Dad had trigger finger surgery and was good to go after that, iirc. He said it was a breeze.
2. Hallux Rigitus: I had two cheilectomies on both my big toe knuckles. Hallux Rigitus or something like that? Two pointy growths on each end of the bones on that first big toe knuckle. They’d jam when I’d walk.I walked like Long John Silver for 6 months before getting the first one fixed. They shave the horned growths away. This was in my thirties. Got the second toe done when it started a couple years later. Very easy recovery. Here’s an ugly toe pic of the scars!! If that don’t work and it comes back, they fuse the joint with the toe up a bit for walking ease. Thank the Lord, I’ve been fine ever since.

Ouch! Glad you're doing well. Happy to hear of your dad's outcome as well. You are both inspirational to this old man.

That's it!

Luckily it hasn't really progressed in the past few years.

I have it in my right middle finger, but it's not too bad. When it gets stuck, which isn't that often, I have to straighten it out manually by pulling the finger open. That's a bit painful. So far, I don't feel the need to have it looked at.

For me it took several weeks and the improvement was gradual. Along the lines of "hey, my finger's working again!"
That's my outcome with my knees and hip. The initial shot has an anesthetic in it, so the pain is gone immediately but they tell you to take it easy. Then as the inflammation slowly subsides the mobility and motion slowly improves. Then as you get towards six months it's back to being bad again. Now, they're nylon and titanium and while not like a good human knee, better than they had become.

And Jerry Garcia also had a missing middle finger right hand I believe like Phil Keagy.
I started having a trigger finger in my right index quite a few years ago and have a little bit of tendency in my middle finger now. Biggest problem I have with playing music was dropping flat picks; doesn't seem to interfere with finger-picking, as poorly as I can do it.

West,

I and a fellow co-worker were at the driving range. I'm left handed, but when smacking the balls from that side, I could hit farther, but not very straight. I think I was a big slicer. I wanted to try his well used Taylor forged clubs and we decided to switch for a few minutes. I found I didn't over swing like I did as a lefty and hit straighter. It also made me think more, read more, and practice more to get to hitting the ball solidly and get to where I could play better that way. I then would putt from either side too. For me, it was just the difference of pulling the club through the ball, like a back hand in tennis vs pushing the club.

Cool story. I'm a right and always have been, but when I play with a left handed golfer, I love to watch them. For some reason to me, the swing from the other side of the ball just always looks so much more graceful. I've always enjoyed watching Mickelson hit a golf ball.

That's cold blooded beecee - you'd probably cut a man with a dull knife
I had a boss who told a story about a guy who worked for his dad. The fellow liked to go to some rather rough bars on weekends. He came in one Monday with a knife wound and he was angry not that he had been cut, he had been cut some number of times before, but that the knife was dull. He said there was nothing that made him madder than being cut with a dull knife.

I have to say, that's a lifestyle I do not understand.

I used a lot of stretches from a video to get rid of mine. Look for triger finger exercises on youtube. The video I used is no longer available.
Also diclofenac helps.

And you're not alone in not understanding Cynthia. And Tom, I did watch a YouTube video done by a lady therapist, but her exercises haven't helped.
