Bad race as Pogacar had to stop his attacking Vingegard near the last top because of a motorbike ahead of them that was not watching and didn't see him coming, and then on the way down an other time Rodriguez couldn't take over because of the same motorbike (or was it an other one I don't know)...What a shame...
I think the crowds may have played a big part of that. There wasn’t a lot of room for the motos to get through.

I think that Pogacar's attack was a winning shot (I've just seen it twice right now) and that the motos ruined it. No excuse for them : they should know these type of attacks happen regularly...They should never have been there (not two side by side I mean)...

Strange chrono today. Aero bikes seem useless going so slow uphill.

Barring a crash, the Tour is over as far as GC goes with Pogacar cracking big time. Yesterday was a serious wound; today, a fatal blow.

I and the wife watched it every year during the Lance years. It was a bit of a sucker punch when everything came out. I have no idea what percentage of the top 10 riders or even teams were doing things that could not yet be detected, but I suspect it wasn't just Lance. It just put a big downer on watching. Could similar stuff be going on now?

I kinda' wish I could get over that.
Most fastest performances get beaten these years, including those that were done by riders who are now known as having taken forbidden substances... I read about people such as qualified doctors being suspicious again..., and talks about new ways of cheating or magnifying performances through various means. Vingegard said that times have changed, that new training methods, nutrition and equipment have improved and explain it all...But 3 minutes (almost) to Van Aert in 22 kms appear to be a lot to some, 50" in the last climb of the 'Contre la Montre' on Pogacar (with a bicycle that wasn't even as good as Pogacar's) too... Does the story go on ? Are the genuine 'heros' those in front ?

So today last stage with serious mountains climbing...Shall we learn more about Ketones (or other products) and how to use them ? (Pinot and Pogacar should be trying them, this time with the help of a serious marathon athlete known to have used them successfully - 1st offer once judged too expensive should have been accepted this time ! 😊 😎 - just kidding -).
Or more seriously was it just that Pogacar missed to have had enough training after his accident (just one day of genuine racing after his accident I heard to day)...I've heard or read both theories being analysed (or some even possibly implied at times), though not established...

Gaudu (best French so far this year) had said that he was at his top with his own performances and training level, but still couldn't follow the best riders (he once had finished 4th of TdF.). Not so interested anymore altogether.
(Ketones - nutritional supplements - are not forbidden)

You are right on this...But he was far back down and even more actually, while not doing this kind of fault...
Some say this kind of things happen when you're not quite there (tired or loosing motivation).
He did quite well today in spite of his fall, and the time he lost.
It's been far worse many times, and he didn't fall... Still 9th in GC, and first French rider.
