Grace Potter and the Nocturnals performing Paris.

Plenty of things to think about. Is the stereotype of Parisians implied by the song accurate? Is it helpful or hurtful? Does the lyricist understand the subjective tense in English? Is the 30 something dark haired bass player hotter than the 20 something blonde guitarist and lead singer? Are there other performances that might help answer that question? Is there any Guild content?

The answer to the last question is yes. The bassist is Catherine Popper who has played a '67 Starfire I for years and periodically gets discussed in the Bass section, often because of her work with Ryan Adams.

I'd call it a tie between the singer and the bass player - both are mighty fine, and both can really rock!

Hey Frono, remember Heart, These ladies had a lot of that dynamic energy too. I really enjoyed your clip. Steffan :D

Ovation content in taabru45's link above.

Here you go. Different line up for the Nocturnals but Ann and Nancy Wilson make a guest appearance. Same song too.

WOW... What a performance! Thanks for that... Everyone was amazing... Steffan

She wants me. She told me so last night while I was standing next to my high school locker in my underwear :| .

More here on LTG, if you don't want to search.

Take particular note of the post where mavuser reports that you can get a bass lesson via Skype with Ms. Popper if you choose to invest the $.

So Frono, let me get this straight:

I post pics of my teen years band playing a V and I get this kinda comment:

what gets me is the Flying V. Really?

So I guess I wasn't "hot" enough to your liking to get the V pass, hmmm?

And what exactly is implied by the song?... That Parisians say "Ooh la la" ? :?

Great song btw... love it... I'd love to do some damage on lead behind her!

Actually I don't think GP wears a Flying V any better than you do, but I guess there were other aspects to comment about

As for the stereotype, I was going to let people define it for me and see how it evolved, but it does seem to one raised in the US that "Oh La La" is only spoken by the French or people pretending to be French.

As for the song I'd love to be able to hear the BP take on it.

Ahhh... now we're friends again!.. I'll even pretend I didn't see the part relating to "other aspects to comment about".

If I could put my hand on the backing track, you would hear it in a heartbeat, the S100 is waiting anxiously to be unleashed.... 8)

Well if I ever learn the bass we're part way there.
