Look what walked into Jacobs Custom Guitars today.

It's a '73 S-100, originally (according to the label) in sunburst, which you can still see on the back. It sounds good, too.

I'm not even quite sure what to say! Definitely unique. What is the carving made of? Is it molded of something or... wood? Wow....

That's gotta be pretty damned thin in places, as deep as that carving looks.

Tom, the guitar is actually carved in deep relief. By hand, it appears.

That is some serious work on that guitar. I can only imagine the time they put into it carving all the detail. It would have been even better if they would have carved the back as a Rear View of the front.

MiIghta been a serious distraction when playing.
Coulda given a whole new meaning to the term "got wood?"
That thing is freakin' exquisite.
Hands down the best cosmetic mod, make that upgrade, I've ever seen on any guitar ever shown here.
(Or anywhere that I can recall, even counting John Cipollina's "batwing" guitars))

Best I don't let my nature boy see that!:love_heart:

That is a beautifully done work of art. That's an example of when someone's vision works out very well.

The third eye is a little creepy.

If you scroll up and down on the photos notice it follows you!

Dave, is it as creepy in real life?

Let's talk about that big-*** flamed maple tool cabinet in the background for a minute. That thing is sharp!

It's pretty strange, for sure. Especially that third eye thing. But the quality of the carving really hits you "in person". And, of interest to you, it comes from New Jersey!
