is a classical. I've always known this but for the volume of electric and flat top steel string guitars, classical guitars are few and far between and seldom played. I have two and look at them once in a while because Stratocasters, but tone wise nothing really comes close to a classical guitar.

I am always surprised at the deep rumble of the bass strings I can get with my Mark II. This can be enhanced by tuning down a half step, that I discovered by accident. It's not as loud as a D-28, but very pleasing to my ear. I play most of my finger-picking Folk songs on a classical these days. But that is also due to aging hands. ;)

They never offered a merit badge for guitar, did they? There might be a story there.

As the proud father of an Eagle Scout, I do know there is a Music merit badge...

For anyone who is a fan of Brazilian Jazz, this is a wonderful album by nylon string guitarist Luiz Bonfa. He is not as well known as some other Brazilian artists, but he is a very accomplished composer and guitarist.
