I just returned from Prince William Sound, the "Midnite Sun" is only slightly less dramatic in SE Alaska. Spent the Summer Solstice sleeping on the beach. Went to bed after midnite with enough light remaining to tie fishing knots, was awakened around 4 AM by Orcas blowing in the distance, Sun was up and enough light to see 50 miles.
Summertime is the time to do Alaska. 8) 8)

Gained some respect for the swiftness of Alaska Tides, spent a nice 4 hours, unplanned, on a sweet remote rocky beach. Stopped a few minutes for a comfort break & the boat was beached. Fortunately the incoming tide moved equally swift, Bears had spent the morning above the tideline feeding in a Sunk cabbage patch. . The little people weren't the least bit inconvenienced, kept us all entertained until the tide returned.
