The layout is good, but the outline of the subhead is ragged, maybe from resizing or changing colors? Sorry for the negativity, the site is looking beautiful.

I like the new logo. It looks great. It was bugging me the way it was partially hidden behind the other tabs, but I didn't want to say anything because of all the hard work you have been putting in on the new format. Thanks! My OCD is now at a manageable level.

If I had to guess, I'd say GAD filled the background of the image with a solid blue (instead of the original gradient) that matches the site's banner background blue. If it's not a high res image, a few extra pixels can get filled in causing that.

I remember from my days of webmastering, it's painful to change those text images because the pixels on the edges of the letters are usually a blend of the foreground and background colors. When you make any change in those colors, the outline pixels stand out. I think I usually remade the logo image when I had to change colors. The transparent background is meant to avoid the problem of matching the background, but it's tricky to make edge pixels partially transparent. I don't know the capabilities of current graphic editors with respect to using partial transparency in text outlines.

The logo will get a major update. It was made a long time ago when resolutions were much smaller than they are today.

No worries - Qvart is almost right. The logo now has a transparent background and the selection process did that. I'm remaking it from scratch so I'll have highres versions soon.

That was my next guess - background erase.
