Just finished watching the Garbage concert on NJN (public TV, like PBS) and dunno if it was Butch Vig or the other guy but it was definitely a SFIII, cherry red with a bigsby and guild buckers. and it was grungy and goopy, just the way i like it, nice!

Garbage played guild guitar since 97/98
Starfire III and some de armond for duke and bluesbird for steve marker the other guitarist who i quite admire because he's the one who made me familiar with Guild electric
it's a pity he plays now some gretsch.....
I don't understand that cause his got his own custom shop guild model
Must be some "order" from Fender to abandonned guild electric to move for gretsch even if duke resists with his starfire

The Starfire III or II with the sharp cutaway is my favorite archtop shape, it's just so comfortable to hold and play and looks so super cool. I think someone posted a clip of Norah Jones playing one in concert recently, I can understand why she choose it, in addition to great tone, the Starfire III just looks so darn cool...it's a shame it's no longer made! Fender/Guild custom shop needs to bring the Starfire III back, I think it's one of the greatest and most unique guitar design of all time...good thing Guild made so darn many and they are still floating around out there!

Yes, plus the hassle of digitally altering the headstock so it reads "Guilt" instead of Gibson! ES137 plus Bigsby just doesnt' sound as cool as Starfire III....probably the coolest and most appropriate name for a guitar model ever!!!
