Thanks LadyTexan for letting us know. I ordered when I saw your post, and just got word that my copy shipped. This'll keep me busy for awhile, before I'm ready for Vol. 2!

You're most welcome, X-1790SB! Whenever someone (especially Hans) references a page or picture, I go and look it up....and, then, I wander into other sections to read....and reread. It's a great book! Enjoy yours. :)

Thanks Toni! Just ordered my new copy from Amazon.com today!

Ralf

O.k., the bible arrived today! $32.99 new from Amazon USA, and it took only 2 weeks from USA to Germany! Shipment was $7.89 only, no duty.

Now I am only waiting until Hans publishes the second book ;-)

Just for the record, I negotiated a reprinting deal with Hal Leonard for the first book.
I did not close a publishing deal for Volume 2, because I don't have to.
I'm the author and I will also be the publisher, just like the first book.
I hope that the reprint of Part I will be available soon, but I don't know yet when Part II will be coming out.

Sincerely,

Hans promised that Volume I would be reprinted. It hit the presses again and folks are already lining up to buy it. Since he has always kept his promises, we LTG'ers need to be patient and have faith that Volume II will be in our hands someday. Keep in mind, the first volume was a Herculean task. The more recent history of the company might be less difficult to piece together, but the sheer number of models offered after 1977 would make a second volume an even more monumental undertaking than the first.

...and will Volume 2 bring us up to date through all the changes or is there already a Volume 3 in the works?

No, I don't want to be patient!!

:) I think there's more work involved than we know.....at least more than I had thought.

I'm a published author, so I have no doubt how much work is involved, especially where historical research and facts are involved. And that doesn't begin to cover the endless hours of editing.

I was more excited by the fact that there's a rough draft done. Somehow that makes it real.

To be honest, I can't remember if Hans called it a rough draft.....or notes. Anyway, it was a folder full of Volume II information. :)

I can't wait for Vol II either, Jim. I've purchased Vol I three times already; I have the hardcover, softcover, and kindle version. 8)

Too bad "The $64,000 Question:" isn't around anymore, you might have been able to win a little GAS money.... Steffan
