Well friends, last night was a great one. I went to Red Rock Resort over on the west side at the base of the mountains and sat under the moon and stars and experienced the Beach Boys as part of their 50th Anniversary Tour. It was amazing!!! Those guys sound great. All those songs I grew up with were played and it was truly a night to remember. The band consists of Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, David Marks and Mike Love.
I have to say that I was worried about how they'd sound, but between the five of them and the support band of TEN, it was an amazing experience. Poor Brian. He's a bit of a mess but, that's to be expected. They practically carry him up on stage and plop him in an office chair in front of a white piano. He rarely extends his hands to the keyboards.... but it's necessary to use as a prop and to hold the teleprompter which he relies on heavily. His voice, considering his disabilities and state of being, is still pretty strong. The rest of the guys were amazing and they put on a HELL of a show. Even though Mike Love joked after just three songs, "Well, we're gonna go take a little break, take a nap......"  they bombarded us with hit after hit and kept us entertained for close to 2.5 hours!!
Granted they have some AMAZING talent supporting them up on that stage, but the overall effect is timeless and true to their sound. I was expecting an okay time, but I had the best experience..... they sure know how to put on a great show!!
