That darn little OM120

Well shoot , I’m a mess my home is mess my dogs are a mess about everything around me is a mess .

I found myself replying to a YouTube question on one of my vids which got me looking at my mics which are a mess . Ok I see that one yeah there’s that one but where the * is the MXL ? and what about the other one ? Gosh darn it I know , I know I didn’t lose these things where the heck is , oh in my 5 yr project desk that’s not complete it’s a mess to oh and there’s the OM 120 !

Yikes she’s covered in dust and yup obviously she’s a mess too ! So I don’t clean her but I do bring her to the couch .

I open a beer , I think my 4th one and I’m feeling pretty darn messy Err good . So after writing my name in the dust I start playing a tune I think I YT ‘d as a “ in the works “ or something tune . Anyway drinking away and playing her I start zoning out .

I start listening to this guitar more so than my playing which is a mess . The guitar just sings ! I mean almost on its own . Pick one note and every other string wants to join in add the sustain and reverb of the box and ya get full blown orchestra.

Maybe I’m just lucky with this cheap import but man it has got me hooked on all solid African mahogany guitars .

How can this guitar sound so good ?

I wish there was a way I could share what I hear to everyone so they can well, can hear what I hear ! Lol

I seem to be very impressed everytime I pick this guitar up . Does it feel like a high end guitar ? Nope . Does it have high end woods ? Err ….. maybe who’s to say certainly not those crayon holders putting check marks on the lumber as it slides by . Lol

Ugly wood can rule as easily as pretty wood !
So one thing that’s noticeable is the change in tone sustain reverb etc between having it against your body and moving it just a bit off your body . It’s like night and day .

Against your body is like Monday morning hang over .

Off your body is like a Friday night party ! Ya hoo ! I believe it’s the most sensitive guitar I have in this sense .

Ok I blabbed enough . I’ll try to record something new and try to focus on what I hear ! Lol

I hear ya, Ray. I pulled out my all solid hog GAD D125-12 yesterday and... man, this thing is loud! It's got plenty of bass, which is often a shortcoming of less expensive guitars. (This thing was, like, 400 bucks with a nice Guild hard case. Hard to beat that!) OK, it's a little brash, but maybe that's just the newer strings. No, it's certainly not an F512 or a JF30-12, but it's an awfully good little (dread) 12-string!

Honestly speaking ( it’s early morning having coffee before work ) no altered state here . Lol

This guitar is very sweet . Like many of you here having played and owned some really nice guitars this 120 is pretty amazing .

Sure it has faults compared to high-end guitars but some of these faults actually transfer to high end models as well .

It makes me smile every time I play it . That speaks volumes.

I find the vibrations of a flatback on my belly to be a great digestive aid. Almost as good as those old fashioned jiggle-belt weight reduction machines.
