Ted Beesley lives in England and has been retired for many years.
The book was the the result of research which was carried out over many years through the 1970s/80s. This was pre internet and also pre digital photo days.
Yes errors have become apparent, but because of Guilds random production methods an error may not apply to all guitars of a particular model.
Hope this explains a few things.

Are... Are you Ted Beesley?

Welcome and thank you for the information. We tend to be critical but most of us understand nothing is perfect and really do appreciate the sources that are available.

Yes I am, I have been looking at LTG for some time and find it very interesting.

Welcome! Any "negativity" about your book is misplaced (especially if I wrote it!) It is one of the *only* books out there about Guild and we all greatly appreciate it!

A vere I know, but...

For those that do not know, Greg is the author behind a masterwork of research...(would we call this "white paper"?) on dating Fender amplifiers by means of serial number. If you have heard about how to do it from some other source, it ALL leads back to Greg's research.

We could call him the "Hans" of Fender amps! I throw down the gauntlet...Greg, lets do the same for Guild amps, there are many that are just dying to have someone decode them...if anyone could do it, you can! I would take Matsickma and Default under your wings...;)

Edit: Mr Beesley, I have had your book for years and YEARS...it was our (or at least, my) Bible before the internet. Thank you so much for your hard work!

Welcome aboard! Thanks for your efforts and contributions to Guild model history... As a Guild owner for more than 45 years, and "small time collector/player" (meaning I have more than one!) for the last 15 years, I have found your book very useful.

@Default , NO EXCUSES! Get in your car and go see Greg! Bring your G&L, that will give you a special cachet... ;)

You have an internal knowledge, as well as interviews with former workers, that would make this project great!

Ha! Thanks Bill. The problem with Guild amps is that they aren't as plentiful as Fender amps so they are much more difficult to assess. I think I have info for about 150 or so Guild amps. Compare that to info for about 40000 Fender amps.

Ted, thank you very much for your book. Your's is one of the two books I've used for Guild information over the years. With the maturing of the internet, sources for information have changed. Going back 15 years the people who had a good handle on this information were few and far between. Someone like myself had little chance of accessing this knowledge. That's where books like yours and Han's made it possible for many of us to know what Guild had produced through the years in detail. Thanks again.

Very! Very! Cool!
For us Guild fans, especially those who were fans long before the internet, this is as cool as it gets! Some of us felt almost alone in our admiration of the instrument and brand.
Thank you for your great contribution Mr. Beesley! And Hans! and GGJ!

Welcome, Ted!
So glad you popped in. As you can see from the thread start, I recently got your book, and I'm still working my way through it. As a career editor, I completely understand how difficult it is to research, collect, and present lots of information. It's quite the accomplishment and greatly appreciated by this collection of Guild nerds. We're lucky to have you here :C)
