My wife's Taylor 410 looks like the top is pulling up more than normal. [Bellying?]
This is the Taylor with the pinless bridge. I don't know if that matters.
We have always kept it humidified but it doesn't get played very much.
I have lowered it to D tunning for a couple of weeks and it is still lifted the same.
Tonight I took all the string tension off of it.
There is a product on the market that is made to help with this problem.
I think that it's called a Bridge Doctor.
Does anyone know anything about them?

Hey TMG... The "Bridge Doctors" have been discussed at length here some time back. My take on the thread was that those that tried 'em were VERY impressed. I heard nothing bad...

Come in two flavors... one, for "vintage" instruments, used proprietary brass bridge pins, one of which screws into the doctor below the bridge plate. Avoids drilling any holes in the bridge/top. For the other, a single hole is drilled thru the bridge/top/bridge plate and a screw is used to anchor the doctor on the inside. The screw is covered by a matching wood plug (or abalone plug, or just about anything). I talked to Tom at Local Music here in SLC once... he sells 'em and installs them. His opinion was that they did work, and were one option in correcting a belly and avoiding a more expensive neck reset.

Yeah, I got a Taylor with a bent neck, back at the Taylor factory for warranty service, rumoured they're bolting on a new neck. Taylor T 5 it is, Been gone about a month now, should be coming back here soon.

Gotta give em credit they're due, they took her back for service with no issue.

There are a couple back threads that deal with the Bridge Doctor, mostly good things to say. John Kidder has one in his GF 60R & there are at least a couple more members that have used them with good result.

Search the forum for Bridge Dr.

Hi Dave.
Thanks for the tip about Local Music.
I will talk to Tom about the problem.
I also wanted to see if he caries the K & K pickups.
I'm not sure which guitar to install the pickup in yet.
My Martin already had the larger end pin hole from an old Thinline pickup.
I may just put the pickup in it for now.
If I do, I may sell the GAD JF-48 and look for a smaller bodied guitar.
I have been playing some of the smaller guitars lately and I'm starting to like them.
I am still waiting to see if my 12 string sale goes through.
If it does, I have a Jumbo Guild waiting for me.
