I have a T1-Twin, and I'm planning to install a couple of Weber Alnico 10-inch, 8-ohm speakers in it. I seem to remember that running two 8-ohm speakers in parallel would be correct, since I believe the T1 twin is rated at 12w RMS at 4-ohms. Is that a valid assumption, or am I all wet? Thanks!

Two 8-ohm speakers in parallel is 4 ohms.

Two 8-ohm speakers in series is 16 ohms.

Remember, Watts and ohms have nothing to do with each other.
The Thunder 1 - 12 calls for an 8 Ohm speaker. If the Twin has the same basic output transformer, you may need 2 4Ohm speakers in series, or 2 16 ohm speakers in parallel.

Iirc, all of the speakers used were 8 ohms. I have a couple of T-1, but haven't looked at the p/n on the transformer. If you could post the numbers from the output transformer, we could compare. I'll look when I get back to Casa Default, at an appointment now.

Thanks for the responses. Specifically, to Default -
To answer your question about transformer identification numbers, here goes:
There are two transformers. On the larger one, the numbers are:

007001
606604

On the smaller one (I assume this is the output transformer -

007002
606604
Are these the numbers you were asking about? Does this make any sense? Does it help at all?

The original speakers were connected in parallel, so I figured that I would connect the Webers the same way. I couldn't find anything on the original speakers that stated their ohm rating. will the nominal ohm rating of two 8 ohm speakers wired parallel, which I think results in a 4 ohm load, be safe, and is that what Guild did with the T-1 Twin?

As you can tell, I am a relative ignoramus when it comes to electronics. I sincerely appreciate the help, and any suggestions from those with more knowledge than I. THANKS!

Yes, those are the numbers we're looking at. The speakers are probably 8 ohms each, so I would use two 8 ohm Webers, wired up just like the stock Oxfords. You don't need high power speakers, 20 watts each should be fine.
