The guy playing the Artist Award is Leonard T. "LT" Zinn. He is a member of the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame, but here he's chugging away on the AA. He was once in a band with B. B. King, Ce Ce Winans, Dee Dee Sharp, e. e. cummings, G. G. Allin, J. J. Cale, K K Klan, L. L. Cool Jay Pilzer, M & M, P. P. Arnold, Q. Q. Tip, R. R. Crossing, S. S. Case, U. U. Philips, V. V. Brown, and Z. Z. Top.

Here's Eddie Cochran's version.

Very nice! My wife got a few lessons from a friend named Bobby Black. Bobby learned from one of the masters, Jerry Byrd:

The steel has got to be one of the most expressive instruments there is. Add pedals and knee levers and you've got an instrument that astonishingly beautiful to hear and frighteningly difficult to play. My old pedal player Hal Merrill says it's like flying a helicopter but with a much nicer sound.
