I tend to believe the love of America Made Guid's has no Xenophobic bias. We Guild enthusiast were proud of the long tradition of Guilds American Made because of the large number of the other famous names in guitars moving some of their products to off shore manufacturing locations.
However when Fender acquired the Guild products and added the DeArmond line I was just beginning to return to my guitar playing roots. The DeArmond line had many Guild features at a price point I could afford. I still have my 1st DeArmond...a red Starfire Special (equivalent to a semihollow SF3). I did swap in a set of vintage Franz pup's at a time when only vintage Franz were available.
So with the good quality of Korean and Indonesian made electrics I'm ok with that and if the price point is competative more players will discover Guild guitars.
