Interesting. I’m guessing this is an aptly designed demographic thing because when I asked my 22 year old what she thought of them she replied:

not a fan of those switches, in any location, but especailly in that location.

Grot they look like "real" Guild imports to me. I suppose there is a chance they are not marketed for North America? or simply counterfiets- is that your question? either of those scenarios are extremely not likley

Wow, it's like an overweight hot mess mod Mustang thing. I love offset guitars, but not that one. Guild has to make money, though, so they gotta do what they gotta do.

I've tried searching for this Guild model guitar and it only shows up on that particular site in Poland. Not on Guild's website for sure. Are these for real?? Very strange....

I asked my guy on the inside if they were coming to the US and was told yes. I was then told that my guy on the inside’s position was eliminated and that yesterday was his last day.

That sucks on many levels, not the least of which being that his position was director of QC.

I've played a good bunch of Oxnard made Guilds by now, and they were all good, a couple (one D40 traditional in particular) were exceptional. So hoping they'll eventually bring back F30's, F40's and F-47's (!!) I really like what Cordoba's doing there.

The Chinese acoustics haven't gotten any better though, and I've never thought they were all that great. Most of the more recent additions to that line have been cheaper guitars with some cosmetic variations in the b/s laminates used.

The electrics...I was genuinely enthousiastic about the guitars Fender introduced - I have and like two of the X175's, have gotten a lot of use out of them, and I was impressed by how much of the look, feel and sound of what I consider to be classic Guilds relatively little money can buy.

What Cordoba's done on the electric front since though, struck me as either uninspired or as a general cheapening of the line and brand. These Surf-whatevers only add to that feeling. I love offsets, funky offbrand guitars and things like that, but these don't strike me as inspired in that regard either, the mostly look like cheap wannabes. IMO and YMMV.

The neck plate with the G is sort of cool but that is balanced out by the completely uninspired truss rod cover.

+1. Is the TRC made out of a piece of metal?

Also, IMO, switches like that with the 0 and 1 on it don't belong on a guitar. A lamp maybe, but not a guitar. I like Guild's overall idea with these guitars, but the execution is not very well done at all. I'm sure the price point has something to do with it.

Price point, kids..... they tryna make MONEY!! Which is good for them and good for us. If you don't like it don't buy it. I think these look so cool but since I don't know what they're trying to be they're just fun and I don't have an electric and also I like blue so...... sucker me in right here. For $350 if that's what Ralf is saying..... ???

I like the string tunnels, he said, casting about for something complimentary to say. And the blue is nice. Or is that teal? Well, it's still nice.

And note this clever truss rod cover engineering advancement, it is (nearly) impossible to put it on upside down:

Maple neck is nice.
Personally don't like seeing two different "G" brandings; the head-stock "G" is different than the more triangular abstract "G" on the neck plate. Picky, but the inconsistency is awkward design.
Echo walrus and mavuser, the switches are bizarre.
Bridge, pickups and tuners all look easy to upgrade if need be.
The "Fresh Mint" is more of a pallor than a color.
Surfliner is an interesting name, it is a rail line. Wonder if this guitar is designed to produce "surf guitar" tones?
Mmmm, if it sounded and felt decent enough I'd probably buy one. Price is right.

they are fine for the money if they play well, and sound good enough...as long as they keep making the NS Starfire/Aristocrrat/BB. i'm sure u could mod the switches out of the circuit pretty easy just by pulling the pickguard (and cover that area up with a sticker of Rhode Island!)
headstock looks cool, imo. as well as the logo. a fun little bird for the target market (as long as it's not garbage!)
