This has probably been done before, but I know how often some people change string types, after all we are all looking for that ideal string. It's about time to change strings on my Artist Award, and I'm curious what other players of carved tops use for playing mostly acoustic. I've got D'Addario J-17s on at the moment, but am leaning towards a more jazzy string, maybe some kind of chrome or stainless. I play it mostly for swing rhythms, although also some bluesy folk stuff at times.
I've been thinking about using the T-I George Benson Jazz 14s, What do you think?

Thanks, but this " Also finally we have a flatwound that sounds good on the bridge pickup" implies "electric." I was really more interested in their acoustic properties. Still, something to consider, although the AA has no bridge pickup :D

I see.. For acoustic only, I wouldn't know.. But I imagine a flatwound would be a bad choice..

I use D'Addario J20's on my X-50 (jazz extra light, with a wound third string). They sound great acoustically, and plugged in.
