Trying to put straplocks on my X-170. Got everything installed fine, but the neck-side strap post is so close to the neck that I can't get the strap locked onto it.

Anyone else have this problem, and if so how did you resolve it?

Thanks,

I ran into the same thing. I thought it was a defect. I can use straplocks but it is hard to get snapped in.

Straploks rock. I've been using them for 30 years, or however long they've been out if it's less than that.

They work very well on other guitars. The peg is just too close to the neck on the X-170.

These are what you're talking about?Schallers or Dunlop?

Dunlops. I have Schallers on my Strat (it came with them) and I hate them. I've used Dunlops for 20+ years and love them.

I got a different strap today to see if that helps. I'll keep you informed.

Looking at the Schallers though, they might fit better. It's the wide washer around the peg that's the problem. Actually it's the 1/8" of strap beyond the washer...

I don't use the washers. I just put the strap over the strap buttons and clamp the whole shebang on top of it.

Got a new strap and it solved the problem. I looked for one that had the hole nearer the end of the leather. Works like a charm now.

I had to think about this one. Are you saying that you don't mount the straploks to the strap at all? Doesn't it rattle, or am I misunderstanding?
