Starfire IV / 4 Nut-Width.

My '85 SF 4 has a nut-width of 41mm, as does my nephew's '76.

I've just noticed, while browsing my '03 Guild catalogue, that the Starfire 4 nut-width there, is listed at 1 11/16, or, 43mm.

Was this a change that Fender made, or were nut-widths altered during the Starfire's history prior to the Fender takeover ?
