Arrived today. I have to say that I'm pretty impressed at first glance. It feels a bit "dead" compared to a real SFIII which I attribute to the way it's built (it's not a hollow body) but you would only notice that if you had experience with or played it next to the real deal.

Also I got it the same day as my Hoboken CE100D and that's just not fair. ;)

My three Hobokens are also my coolest Guilds. Best patina ever. Congratulations on the new addition Gary!

I hope you like the Capri. The necks on the Hoboken CE-100s are my favorite Guild neck profiles.

GAD, I once had a Hoboken CE-100D. It was a 1966 and was my first Guild. I would still have it if I hadn’t fallen in love with my Hoboken X-500, tiny neck and all. I‘ll bet you will love it!

I was looking at the SF I DC -- Pelham blue. I'm really digging that color... but I really don't want a Bigsby.

What is the weight of the guitar, GAD? I can't see that mentioned anywhere.

Review will be out in a day or two. Surprisingly the guitar was almost exactly the same as my '97 Starfire III.

I like the blue, too, but I'd need to get one of these. Purdy.

Nearly the same as a Westerly SF III? I'm intrigued. Can't wait to read the review!

I think a Bigsby contributes something to the tone of a guitar even if you never touch the bar. It can somehow increase the harmonics and richness. Of course, some people might not like that, but I usually do, especially on a hollow or semihollow guitar.
