While I've never owned one, I've always kind of thought Ovations were cool guitars. So when a nice-looking New Hartford-made one showed up locally, I had to pull the trigger.

I think I like the color, and the case is about perfect, too. I may run it over the fixit for a bit of work, as it
does have a few fingerboard divots.

And, HEY! I've been there!

Don't know if I'll keep it or flip it, but I'll definitely play it awhile. It sounds great plugged into the Cali Blonde.

Congrats Dave! Ovations have great necks and usually sound great plugged in. Unplugged? Not so much so, but better if it's a deep bowl.

Pretty guitar. What's she worth?

I did a check of completed listings on ebay. Looks like they're going for $500 - $600 used. The nearest thing (imported) lists for about $1200.

This one has a fairly deep bowl. I think they call it mid-depth. It's not bad unplugged, but it doesn't come close to any of my acoustics.

The 6778 was sold from 1995 - 1999. It had a MSRP of $1200 - $1350. It is referred to as a "mid-depth" body. For unplugged play, the deep bowl bodies are better, as they have more body to resonate.

Here is the Ovation description page for it:

The high-output pickup is supposed to be pretty good.
