This thing is near the top of the "Manly tools" list. It'll chuck snow 30 feet. Two-stage blower, 5 forward speeds, 2 reverse.

In the garage and ready to roll. Electric start of course.

Now all we need is the white stuff! Stay tuned...

Yeah, pretty much de rigueur in the snow belt.

A bright spot in an otherwise dark time was when I realized that with my father's death I had inherited my father's snow blower. Forward, neutral and reverse and at 11 years old, the high rise handlebars were about head level. But I was the King of the neighborhood when it snowed and, half a century later, I remember how much fun it was, not how hard it was.

I used to love shoveling snow but my back won't take it any more. Don't like depending on others for snow removal, so this is ideal. Along with our 4-wheel drive vehicles of course.

30 feet? pffftt

This guy claims to throw snow 126 feet with his snowblower (powered by a big-block Chevy V8):

We have some snow here in PA from time to time. My driveway is a little challenging, (you can see about 80% in this shot) but this machine makes it manageable.
Three passes up and three down takes about 45 minutes. Sometimes I have to do that two or three times to keep up. Guess it's time to drag it out and warm it up for this year.

Mowed the lawn yesterday, winterized the mower and got the snowblower out and ready to rock. 10.5 HP Husqvarna. My neighbor bought it when he moved into the house next door a number of years ago - paid around $1,200 for it. A year later he had to move and sold it to me for $500. Works like a champ! One thing I added last year was crampons for my winter boots - much less likely to take a spill.

^ I've gotta do the same.

I like my Honda snowblower, but the chute gets clogged a lot easier than my prior (quite old) Troy-Bilt blower used to.

I do not currently own a snow shovel.
Had a blast 2 winters ago when we were out in NH for the long holiday break. It was 33 degrees day 1, then Days 2-13 were brutally cold, often not getting past 10 degrees before wind chill. Helped get a family out of a snow drift during a blizzard. Using a shovel.

Here we get very little snow in the valley. A snowblower might come in handy about 6000 feet up!
