Recently picked up this Teisco SS-4L. Lots of buttons, gold foil pickups. Overall condition is rough but you won't hurt it much hauling it around. It was missing the trem so I put a piece of angle on it temporary. Looking for a proper trem but, as is, it is still a badass blues slide machine.

Wow. What kind of education do you need to operate that? Does messing with the controls actually make any real difference?

Thanks.

Growing up I had an electric heater in my room that looked just like it!
But I bet you can get some killer tones out of it.....

As far as the article goes, the Spectrum 5's have been the collector's favorite but models with gold foil pickups have really been increasing in value. I wasn't looking for a super clean collector guitar though, I was looking for a player. I'm pretty hard on guitars anyway.

I am using an old US made Crate tube amp. I have been shopping for a Fender Deluxe Reverb II or a Princeton Reverb II but so far my bids have not brought home a Rivera Fender. I have also used it a few other places, including on a PA and it still sounded, not quite as hot, but OK.

I believe Campbell played a Teisco Del Ray. There were several versions or models called Del Ray. If you look close at the dideo, the body had a cutout at the lower bout as a handle, kind of like some of the metal guitars like Ibanez have now.
