I can see the fear and disgust of many if such towers were suggested in the neighborhood. But as an old fart living close to cemetary - our daily walk w Jymy The Dog takes us around it - I have no objections personally.

I'm trying not to laugh - while thinking about all them crows and magpies and some random hawks croaking while fighting who gets to eat my eyeballs . . . 😂 - you see - we do not have actual vultures in these parts . . .

What happens to me after I'm dead - I think of it as what happens to my soul - if there is any.
As of body - just get rid of it so it does not do no more harm to anybody or anything.

Well I know that on some forums, maybe this one, discussion of religion and politics is prohibited, but nevertheless, it appears to be the topic here in this thread. I've read that people will be reincarnated and that people are simply curious, so maybe it's ok for me to say, without causing a big stir, since someone said this is a place where topics can be discussed with civility, I believe in the bottom of my heart that I am going to a far better place. What is done with my body doesn't much matter to me, but it's been discussed. Yes, I happen to be Christian....shoot me. 😊 I'm so far gone that I read the Bible each and every day. Don't worry, I won't preach or pass judgement on any of you, but it works for me.

And mom and dad are both in a concrete vault, in the ground.

I've always loved the lyric: Blood, Sweat and Tears 1969.

"And When I Die"

Now troubles are many
They're as deep as a well
I can swear there ain't no heaven
But I pray there ain't no hell

"I'm not scared of dying
And I don't really care
If it's peace you find in dying
Well, then let the time be near
If it's peace you find in dying
And if dying time is near
Just bundle up my coffin cause
It's cold way down there
I hear that's it's cold way down there
Yeah, crazy cold way down there
And when I die and when I'm gone
There'll be one child born
In this world, carry on, to carry on
Now troubles are many
They're as deep as a well
I can swear there ain't no heaven
But I pray there ain't no hell
Swear there ain't no heaven
And I pray there ain't no hell
But I'll never know by living
Only by dying will tell
Yes, only by dying will tell, yeah
Only my dying will tell
And when I die and when I'm gone
There'll be one child born
In this world to carry on, to carry on
Give me my freedom for as long as I be
All I ask of the living is to have no chains on me
All I ask of living is to have no chains on me
And all I ask of dying is to go naturally
Only want to go naturally"

Jim, this is another AMAZING song by the late, great Laura Nyro. What you believe is your business. I what I believe is mine. Still friends, right?? (y)(y)

Reading through this thread explains me the joke about the singer who got lost on the way to funeral and after finally arriving there everybody was gone except two men filling the "grave" . . .
