I get a call today , about a Guild 12-string that is used. Now i'm a lefty, so it would have to be turned around. The only thing is it has a cutaway on it. Should I turn it around or should I keep looking. One will turn up sooner ,or later. I want a Guild , so I'llhave to make one a lefty.

Tone,

Keep looking! I think you'd have to replace the bridge, cutaway on the wrong side, pickguard on the wrong side.....unless you'd want a double pickguard. Just too many guitars out there. Even a few for lefties.

Unless their giving it away, the cutaway puts it in the pass category IMO. The right one is out there! Keep the faith!

I'm still working on what it would cost to turn a GAD G-212 around. We've been so swamped in the repair shop we haven't had time to sort it out.

I looked into the gad 12-string to turn around, but Fender said if I do that I viod the waranty. Their words were you can turn the bridge around, but not the nut if the nut is turned around the waranty is void.If I had a right handed one, and want to put a differant kind of nut at the top , I don't get it . People switch these out all the time. You used to be able to get anything you wanted from Guild lefty at no extra charge.I bought 2 D-25's ,one a 12-string years ago. I say offer the 12 as a lefty, or let us turn it around, as long as it is done by a Fender service guy ,and the bracing would hold up . The bracing question never came up as an problem . If I got one the store were i buy it from has a Fender service guy who can do this.

Righty to lefty

You can't just turn it around. Don't forget that right handed guitars are braced to be just that-right handed. Not only would you have to replace the bridge to fix the intonation problems, but the tone will probably be effected. Not a good idea---especially for a 12 string.
