My daughter asked if she could play all my Guild Acoustics, and they all happened to be here so she got to play:
D25 - Corona Seafoam
D55 - New Hartford
D66
F50R - New Hartford
DV72-MK
DD6MCE
Skill-wise, she is self taught aside from what I've shown her, and has been playing for probably three years. Though she's never seriously studied (as in with a teacher) or played with others, she can play a Bm7 without looking and can change chords with ease. She can play Dust in The Wind and Blackbird, and if I show her something new she picks it up with the ease of someone with a 20-year-old's brain.
Her current acoustic is a beautiful small Takamine that fits her well but she is now attracted to the fuller sound of a larger guitar.
She played each of them for probably 10-15 minutes, and while I explained the different levels of bling to her, I did not explain differences in wood, build, bracing, or any of that tech stuff. I just let her play.
So which one do you think she chose? I'll update Friday afternoon.
