...but other than that it's in VG condition, LOL!

It is suggested that this is a 1966 model. The previous owner was obviously a devoted Pete Townshend fan.

I would love to find a replacement neck (preferably vintage but would be okay with modern, but I do want it to say GUILD on the headstock), and get this beauty up to playable. Also gonna need tailpiece, bridge, knobs, pickguard, strap buttons, obviously.

The pickups seem to be functional. Binding is good, too, except for a couple of inches in the cutaway.

I stupidly bought a vintage neck on eBay but it's not the right one. Apparently, Starfire III needs the heel to seat at the 14th fret. The one I have seats between the 17th and 18th frets.

So I also am offering the Guild GUITAR NECK for sale or trade. Someone has suggested it's a Starfire V neck - but I don't know this for sure. (Blue tape is just so I don't lose the nut.) If you are interested, let me know.

I would love ANY AND ALL advice on acquiring parts, and who I can get to do the job (I'm not a builder, I'm a player). I live in the L.A. area, Long Beach to be exact.

Thank you!

Welcome to LTG! That's indeed a "serious project"! Interesting. The body looks fine so far, the wood is laminated anyway, so the little top damage under the fretboard is no problem to repair. The body had a cherry red finish originally, so it was refinished to natural already. Is there still a label with serial number inside? The neck will be a challage as there are very rarely Guild necks offered. Any you are right, you need a 14th fret neck to body joint version. I can't remember any such neck been offered in the last 10 years...
