Where can I go to get my Guild appraised and offer it for sale?

Welcome. Once you have decided on a price you can sell it on LTG.

See https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/read-me-fs-ft-rules-donation-link.202401/

Where you are will influence the appraisal options if you want someone to do an "in hand" inspection. An appraisal for insurance purposes can be different from figuring out fair market value to come up with a starting price. Indeed if you are just looking to sell and there are local shops that would buy it outright or sell it for you on consignment you could contact them for an estimate. That would probably be at the low end of the price range but it would be a place to start.

The first stop in deciding on a price is to go to Reverb and search for your model. Look at both current listings and sold listings. Current listings are often optimistic about price.

You probably want to identify your model and get a sense of condition was well. If you have the somewhat rare and coveted F-612 you will probably get a four figure cash offer the minute you post pictures. If you have the somewhat ubiquitous D-25 when it was made will make a difference and prices rarely make it out of three figures. If you have an electric then more information will be helpful but a sale is unlikely to make you rich :-)

Tell us what you have including pictures so we can assess originality, model and condition. Tell us about the case if there is one. We will respond with a mix of personal opinions concerning condition and price and assist in interpreting "market data".

Ok thanks!!

It’s a 1977 Guild F412 Blond 12 string. Hardly used with case.

First - go to the New Member Introduction thread/forum
Second - post your item in the For Sale forum, not here.
New members must pay to sell (covered in the link Frono posted). Intro no longer required but always welcome.

I guess I need to be on the site for a year and have a certain number of posts. But the Reverb suggestion may work. Thanks!!

OR you can buy a supporting membership which will not doubt be less costly than reverb's fee.

Make a contribution OR be a member for a year with at least 10 posts OR get 50 posts.

You are almost 20% towards the post count :-) You could tell us about how you acquired the guitar and why it is on the market now. We like stories. Now that we know the model I have moved this thread because in my humble, moderator's opinion, if you do have stories then they could just continue on this thread.

About 40 years ago I was in a band and we were recording original songs. The tech we had was in a bind and needed to sell the Guilld and I bought it. We used it on one of the tracks back then but that was it. I never really used it much after that.

I view 12 strings from the more robust build years as a plus. More likely not to need a neck reset after 72-73. A 12 string puts out so much sound it doesn't matter much to me.

That is a beautiful guitar, and even though you haven’t played it much, I bet it still sounds awesome. Good luck with the sale!

There’s even one that costs only $15.

Reverb fees on a $2000 guitar would be ~$100
