I am going to sell my F20 NT....# FA100601.....when I look it up it seems to me that...
1985 starts at FA100595 and 1986 starts at FA100663....
So if I am understanding this correctly.....my F20 was built sometime during the spring of 1985
and only 68 F20's were built....
This is a Westerly build according to the sticker inside...

Am I understanding this correctly...???

Any thoughts on a fair price...???
I see some were sold on eBay for $12-1500...
Neck join is perfect and there are no cracks...

Thanks in advance...

Steve, in your signature, you have it with a 1982 date, unless that is a different F20...?
Those Westerly F20s are great and I cannot imagine it lasting long if you list it here on the LTG.
I am sure Ralf will be along sometime today re the correct date. Might be night time for him however right now...

my guess is it was built in the latter part of 1985...Of course, I am not sure...100%.

Hi Steve: think you missed the critical word in the note above most sections of the s/n lists:
"This chart details the year, model and last serial number produced for each instrument during that period."

SO pretty sure yours is an '86, even taking into account known errors in the s/n lists, but seem to recall that period's pretty "clean".

Unfortunatelly not...Hans dated FA101594 as late 1985 according to my notes but I can't find the matching thread to it. I'm not even sure if that "1" in the middle is not my copy-and-paste-error because FA100594 would be late 1985 according to the list. But I had a reason to note down this number and year and I would have not marked it being 594.... Anyway, I can't help here and regarding FA100601 only Hans can definitely clarify the exact year. I would think in early 1985 if that 1594 would be correct as late '85.

But wrong (as Al pointed out)...:ROFLMAO:

But if the list stops at "00663" in '86, how did they get to 1594? That's a lot of axes for one year, considering they averaged 90 a year from '79-'85? Assuming there's not some kind of HUGE glitch in that model's record, I'm pretty sure that "1" is a cut/paste error as you thought.

Also, it's time to check for a date stamp:
@SteveM : There might be a date stamp on a bevel edge of the heelblock, usually on treble side, or the top, if not both.

On heelblock it represents the date the rim was completed, and actual completion could be from a couple of weeks to as much as a couple of months later. With tops, think it was the date the top was attached.
