i recently purchased my second s300d this one black, the first burgundy/walnut... not sure what to call it exactly, which leads me to where i'm headed with all of this: can anyone tell me what were all of the finishes these were produced in and the relative prevalence of each?
i realize definitive production info isn't a strong point of this model but i'm hooked regardless, any help in terms of what's out there color-wise and the relative "rarity" of each would be appreciated. thanks.

Hello plague,

At that time the standard colors for this model were: Natural Mahogany, Sunburst, Black, Cherry, Walnut and White. I've probably seen more Natural Mahogany guitars than the other colors but the other ones are not exactly rare.

Sincerely,

You sir, have great taste in guitars! I almost bought that subburst that recently sold on Ebay. My addiction is the ash bodies though.

good to know. did the ash body versions also feature an ebony fretboard? definitely part of what makes these guitars so great for me... i've had an eye out for a sunburst model (still not quite as nice as the older gibson tobacco burst finish - now that on an s300 would be amazing) ever since falling in love with the first guild i bought but was beginning to think they were some sort of coveted collectors item, especially after seeing one pop up in the ebay auction you mention. a poor means of really gauging the value of anything, but that guitar went for $300+ what i just payed for the black one above... almost identical condition, and mine with a nicer case. seeing as tho the disparity can probably only be chalked up to the fickleness of internet auctions i'd entertain trade of a black s300d for a sunburst model if anyone's interested? now that i have two, i'm thinking of dropping some nice humbucker sized p90s in one of them once i can get the cash together... will be sure post updates if/when that happens!

The ash version certainly did have an Ebony board. Those guitars ruined me forever. I expect killer materials, quality, sound and looks from every guitar for a great price. Only the Guilds delivered for me.
