There is a S-300 in exc , left-handed, white w/Guild humbuckers for sale on Toronto's Craiglist (Dec. 5th) for $1000. I know for a fact they have really good playability and of course well-made. The guy selling it is firm in his price and I e-mailed him to tell him that if it was still available in a month, to e-mail me. He replied with an e-mail that he would.
I saw an S70 going for $900 recently, so I suppose his price is fair.
Though I've read other members grabbing them for a lot less. I'm just getting back to steady employment so I may have to sell something to spend this kinda dough.
The curse of being left-handed has once again reared it's head.

Howdy... I'm in east-central Toronto and I spotted that same ad. Don't worry, I'm not after it. Money's too tight and I'm not a lefty anyway. But I sure would love to add another old Guild into the flock. Maybe one day.

Good luck on your quest!

Hey Maxer, you get the credit for leading me to it from your post, and i appreciate it. I've always liked the S-300, the unique body shape, the quality of the build, the pu options, the great neck, rounded fingerboard and the 2 full octaves. I have the '77 catalog introducing the ash models and i knew they made lefty's because on the back of the catalog, it saids, all models available left-handed. Now that you helped lead me to the white one (in a gold framed wall stand), I just hope I'm able to square it away.
Thanks alot!

Only too glad I was able to help a fellow Guildite, Billy. Go for it - but send pix if you land it!

Given the rarity of a left-handed solidbody Guild, I'd say 1000 isn't really out of line. I've seen pretty common (and right-handed) S-100s go for more than that. Good luck on the aquisition.

Thanks Maxer and Dane, I'll keep you posted.

Dane, I gotta ask, did you like the Coen brothers movie, Fargo?
I'm an old movie buff, especially anything with the fellow motocrosser, Steve McQueen. But Coen movies rock. Still haven't seen Burn after reading yet but I will. Fargo, Slingblade and A Simple Plan are 3 of my favorites.

Merry Christmas

I did kind of like it. It's not my favortie movie ever, but it's pretty neat. A lot of the folks around here pretend to hate it because of the way the local yokals are portrayed. The accents are inflated, but barely (it's more of a rural Minnesota thing).
