They’re all Newark St Guilds.

The big difference is that they’re no longer made in Korea. The newest cheaper ones are also string-thru.

There are two new Kim Thayil signature model S-100's. One is $899, the other is very limited (maybe 30 pieces?) and is $7,000. I would try one of those

I would but I really want a cherry red! Wish that link had the recently discontinued models so I can compare/contrast :~/

Probably going for an NS S-100, I like the design a lot

Pegasus, I don't know if we were clear earlier, but -- other than the recent US-built Thayil Artist Edition -- there have been Newark Street S-100s being built for quite a long time... all the way back to 2013, I think (not sure). I'm sure you can find one online pretty easily.

I gave my red one, which I bought from GAD here, to my younger son years ago. He loves it!

Remember, too, that the earliest ones (2012-13) had LB-1 pickups instead of the reissue HB-1s. That may be a factor for some folks.

I have to admit to being quite happy to own the original NS S100 with the mini humbuckers. Likely very limited build version. Owning a vintage '70's S100 Deluxe I was interested in a different sounding guitar and and the little humbuckers make that happen. I did pick up a NS Deluxe along the way but I didn't find the HB's as well balanced as the vintage model. I have been considering installing P90 or P90 in a HB size to that guitar.

Might wanna' take a look at GAD's blog. I think this is the axe I gave to my son, but I'm not sure:
