Who recommends putting a roller bridge on the SF III? Any advice on if it is worth it, which one is a good one for this guitar, and good places to get it?
Thanks in Advance.

I don't recommend roller bridges on that kind of guitar. With that bridge setup and a Bigsby without a retainer bar, the rollers usually don't even roll, and make for an overly complicated bridge that's prone to rattles and buzzes. It doesn't help to keep the guitar in tune at all.

If you want to keep a guitar with a B6 Bigsby in tune, pin or otherwise immobilize the bridge base, see that the nut of the guitar is well cut for the string gauge you're using and doesn't pinch the strings, and lubricate the nut with something like Big Bends' Nut sauce.

The Gretsch guys mostly hate them.
There are 'rocking' bridges that work fine if you have a Bigsby/Guildsby.

Also, it's impossible to find a roller bridge with the proper 9.5-10.0 radius that matches the Starfire. All roller bridges out there are 12.0 - 14.0.

Good to know. I do not have that much problem actually. I do not abuse the Bar though. It is very gentle warble for me. Not pushing and pulling hard. Just wondered if it was something that most people did and should I consider it.

Thanks.

There are advocates for well-lubed tuneomatics, and countless varying opinions about custom TruArc and Compton bridges. You can go down a deep hole here, with differing materials (brass, stainless steel, aluminum, et al.) and bridge bases.

Although a bit ringy and plinky, I've stuck with the original rocker Bigsby bridge on my T-100D. I'm still searching for my best solution, too.

I'm going to be the odd one out and pipe up for the Schaller roller bridge. I have Bigsby rockers and TOMs but the Schaller roller is great - no rattles whatsoever. Plus it's adjustable string spacing.

I'm going to have to check one out. Thanks for chiming in.
