Folksinger-songwriter Bill Morrissey passed away over the weekend. If you ever heard him you know how distinctive his voice and style were. I was pleased that a local folk show was playing his music this afternoon on my way home from work, then I heard the news. He was also a novelist, with at least on book.

Oh man, I just hate hearing news like that.
I've been a big fan of his and I always enjoyed his connection with Greg Brown and Greg's Fishin' With Bill.
*I've written at least three songs using that song as a starter if you will. One of which was Sleepin' With Cindy.

RIP indeed. :(

One of my favorite CDs. Think I'll give it a listen right now.

Didn't know the man, sounds like I should have...he was only 60. Man that seems young to me now....

A local guy and New England favorite. We have the first three albums in vinyl. Rest in peace, Bill.

It is young, Steffan. Very sad indeed. Here's a link to one of Bill's songs with lots of Guild content. http://youtu.be/Xnp5E1Hm3Lw
RIP

Well now that I've listened to that and Candy man, Girl of the north country....I feel the loss of what I never knew...weird...getting to know someone of that caliber, shortly after his passing...I would have been a fan of him from the 1st time of hearing him...regardless of when that would have been, and should have been many years ago....thanks for that Tom....Steffan.
