Those guys remain a good comparison resource. Same player, same room, and I assume same recording gear. We all know the reason for them is to sell guitars. These guys and people like them are more and more of the marketing strategy of all the manufacturers.

Guild more than most needs online sales, as their dealer network really suffered from all the disruption Guild has gone through. For me a 12 string that big has to be maple. I just think the brightness of maple with the bigness of a jumbo is a great pairing. YMMV

Agreed! I had no remorse selling my F512...except I shoulda sold it in THIS market!! But I'd be hard pressed to ever sell my JF30-12.

And the funny thing is, even with short fat fingers I can barre the Guild 12's with no issue...and I struggle with a 6 string with a 1 3/4 nut.....go figure.

I bought a 1998 rosewood JF-55-12 last year (thanks to LTG pointing it out on Reverb). It wasn't playing like I wanted so I took it to the only good luthier shop around that I know of. The guys there got all excited about the chunky neck. One guy (who previously turned my X-500 into a dream machine) played it and said "These are the best. Martin made an OK one, but these are the best". They promised me it will play great after I give them $800. Ouch.

My F512 is by far the best 12 string I've ever played, and I'm so grateful to own it.
