I don't know if all of you caught my (somewhat off-topic) comment in The thread High-end Hang Tag where I complained about a reverb sale, saying:

"The never-ending story of the sale of my Martin GPC12PA4 is ongoing. The buyer was originally happy with the deal and gave me 5 stars. Then a MONTH later, she claimed that, essentially, it needed a setup, so therefore it was "not as described" and wanted a refund. Say what?! Initially, reverb said since it was a month after she received the guitar, I didn't have to give her a refund, and I surely didn't. THEN, just recently, this whiny chick apparently convinced reverb to order a $100 refund out of my money! You've got to be kidding me! Of course, I responded to reverb saying this was improper and unfair, especially after I had bent over backwards to please this chick in the first place (accepted lower offer, reduced shipping charge by half when she complained about the tax). I haven't got a response yet from reverb, but I'm not real hopeful. They've got my credit card!"

Well, I finally heard back from reverb. They did arrange a $100 refund with the buyer, but reverb went on to say that Reverb is covering that cost for you. So my faith and respect for reverb is fully restored! This is the second time I've had an unhappy buyer from reverb (unreasonably so), and reverb has come through and made all parties happy. I don't currently have any more sales planned, but if I did, I'd have no reluctance in putting it up on reverb. They've always been fair with me!

Glad to hear it! I've seen a lot of people griping about Reverb since the sale to Etsy but I've had very good results with them.

Out of curiosity, did you use the Reverb Shipping service (whatever it's called)?

Just like any service Industry, Reverb may not be perfect but I agree with you. They at least make an attempt to take care of both the buyer and the seller. I am a for sure Reverb fan.

And Gary, i for one, always use the Reverb shipping process. Cheaper than me going it along Plus they take care of all the negotiations with the shipper if there is any damage. That along, would make it worth my while.

Last year I sold a boatload of stuff on Reverb. I had a couple buyers that were kinda $hitty, but Reverb was fine and I didn't need to get them involved. I would recommend Reverb for your gear sales, for me it worked way better than CL and ebay.

Oh yes, absolutely. Somehow they charge about 1/3 of what it would be otherwise. You just need a printer.

Hey Cougar thanks for following up on this. That whole sale was a wreck from that crazy buyer but I'm glad they tried to make it right for you. That's good news, indeed!! (y)
