Replacing Brazilian Back

I was starting to think that backs and sides were matched becasue all of the Braz sold on ebay matches the backs and sides. Is it true that most of that ebay Braz is inferior sounding?

I believe that most of the luthiers/makers, who cannot do their own re-sawing, like to buy matched back & sides. Especially when it's a species of which there is a lot more variation in color. Indian rosewood is so much easier to match.

I'm not in a position to comment on the quality of the Brazilian rosewood that's available on eBay.
Actually, I wasn't even aware that you could buy that on eBay but I guess you can buy EVERYTHING on eBay, so why not Brazilian rosewood.
