UPDATE: I heard back from Thomann today. The Harley Benton tuners are only available in the zinc plate (chrome look). They confirmed there is no gold plate (golden color) version available.

I am still waiting to hear back from WD Music regarding my inquiries about the attractive golden tuners that Ralf posted (post #13). I have asked if these tuners are available with metal knobs (as plastic can be prone to breaking, crumbling, twisting off the post, etc).

UPDATE: I have also just heard back from WD Music regarding my inquiries about the attractive golden tuners that Ralf posted (post #13). I had asked if these tuners are available with metal knobs (as plastic can be prone to breaking, crumbling, twisting off the post, etc). Sadly, they are not. They suggested the Kluson 6 on a plate, closed back tuners, which are available in gold plate with metal buttons. Unfortunately, the Klusons only have a 29/32 inch (23 mm) post-to-post spacing.

UPDATE: I received a set of the WD 1293 tuners today. See Ralf's post #9. They are identical to the Harley Benton tuners (same plate size and engraving, same gear, post, etc) and same 1" post-to-post spacing. The bushing are the same, and would either need to be replaced or glued in place. The difference between the two brands is the WD 1293 has the smaller button size.

The Harley Benton tuners are identical (including buttons) to the the WD 1279, the difference being the price. A set of Harley Benton tuners is $19.60, while a set of WD 1279 is $44.88.

For whatever reason, Harley Benson does not currently offer the smaller button version.

So it looks like the WD Music versions and the Thomann (Harley Benton) versions come from the same factory in Far East. We just need to find out who else offers them to see if they have the other versions.

Worth noting, guys.... Gold plating has gotten quite expensive. My music store where I used to buy either gold or silver plated trumpet mouthpieces from the makers (for little difference in price) has to get the mouthpieces gold plated now... My last mouthpiece cost me almost twice as much due to plating! I guess at over $1,700/oz, it's understandable.
