Now that I've had it back for several months after the neck reset, etc. , I thought I'd give it a reevaluation. The verdict is the same and even better. This may be the most versatile guitar I own. This is due to it's remarkable clarity. I was playing some ragtime and country blues fingerpicking last night, a style where I favor my parlors, and just for fun picked up the dread and was astounded at the evenness.

It is also getting heavy use as my singing backup guitar, both flatpicked and fingerpicked. I have not experienced any discomfort from the size, and the problem I thought I'd have with it, the slim neck, has turned into an asset as well.

Much as I like the D 18s of the mid sixties, I don't know that I'd trade. Hard to believe such a modest instrument can do so many things well.

I love the D 35 as well and personally feel it is one of the most undervalued Guilds out there. I had sold the couple I owned in the past but found one recently in the Guild Burst finish in fairly pristine condition at a good price (or at least I thought it was) Unless my dogs need more surgeries, this one ain't goin' nowhere very soon.

Good on you that yours turned out so well for you. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
