I bought an undercoat brush and try to use it often. We brushed him Sunday, and every time I do it, I just can't get over how much hair we get off of him. Jeez....

I've estimated that the skin area of our lab 🐾 is about 1m2 = 1000 000 mm2 - and if there's one hair/mm2 - it could shed 10 000 hairs per day while having over three months time to grow new hair 😏

No wonder that he does not get bald and the house is full of doghair - no matter how hard we try to get rid of them 😂

I think our dog sheds 10,000 hairs per day, too.

Guitar for dog trade ;]

You can spin dog hair, wife does, gets it from a friend somewhere in the mail, spins into stuff - blended in with wool - she expects me to wear, nothing like a crazy a$$ oversized knitted hat with doghair sticking out in your eyes... It's all washed of course, but it takes some getting used to, or just plain desperation to wear a hat in a blizzard.

I vacuum up a grapefruit-sized, or sometimes volleyball-sized, amount of Retriever and Collie every day. Sheep can't compete with these guys. If some genius could find a way to re-purpose dog hair by winding it into guitar strings, in a couple of months I'd have enough sets to last me until the Sun burns out.

When our Jymy was puppy - he was afraid of vacuum cleaner - now that he is 6+ years he actually really likes to be vacumed - I use a battery-powered Dyson and rub his sides and back with it - even fairly close to ears - must be that the suction pulls out dead skin particles and what not is hiding inside the fur - thus makes him feel better and less itchy. 🐾
