I guess because he already has a 17" EJ200.Not sure why you'd rule out a JUMBO.

My Tacoma made F-47 is an awesome guitar. They really were making good stuff there.FYI, Elderly is advertising a Tacoma F-40 (mahogany back & sides) for $1,600. In a lovely "ice tea" sunburst. Pretty close to your targeted price range, and supposedly in excellent condition.

Not sure why you'd rule out a JUMBO. I (got lucky and) picked up this New Hartford F50R for less than 2 grand....
Among the many surprises I experienced was a maple Tacoma-built F-47 I ran across in a store in Langley, WA. I'd always found maple flat-tops a bit too bright, but this one behaved wonderfully whether I fingerpicked or flatpicked a bit of swing rhythm. I had an Olympus LS-10 recorder with me, so I made a quick recording, and it still sounds good. I can't directly upload the MP3 to the board, so I'll fiddle around and see whether I can make it available to download.
In any case, it was a lesson in how to not let preconceptions overrule ears.
Exactly.I guess because he already has a 17" EJ200.

This is a first generation Guild GAD series model, made in China. They were very good solid wood guitars for the price. You can spot them on the pickguard shape and the missing truss rod cover (truss rod adjustemnt through soundhole). Also they have like snowflakes and other figures as fretboard inlays, you see a big snowflake (if you know what it is) on the first fret for instance. So this is a GAD-50 model, solid rosewood body with solid spruce top from the 2005 to 2011 timeframe.Aaand...now Im wondering what this is too
That looks nice
Its got the 1 3/4 nut tho
Im pretty set on a 11/16
I would ask them to double check the nut width. I don’t believe those had 1-3/4. Could be a mistake.

Welcome aboard mhcapa55 you sure the gang working . Lol
That was mine, traded it for an 8 string square neck resonator. Too bad, because I had it up in the forum for sale for a while at considerably less. FWIW, I bough it from twocorgis, probably around 2012. I didn't spend enough time with it to bond, and I wanted to try my hand at lap steel guitar, plus lots of other guitars in my herd.FYI, Elderly is advertising a Tacoma F-40 (mahogany back & sides) for $1,600.
