Got a repaired 2K pickup back from Lindy Fralin who did a great job at a fair price. Put it back together with CTS pots. Strangest thing happens. When I go to the middle position (both pickups on) the voluum drops and tone thins out preipitously until I bump one of the voluum pots just a notch off of full. Then it's just what you'd want. Either pot does the trick. Tried the old pots same thing. Any DeArmond owners out there experience that?

Maybe the pups are wired in phase with each other? On mine, the middle position puts one out of phase, so you are in humbucking mode. Mine has some cajones in that position. did you try switching pup leads yet? Does the 60 cycle hum remain in the middle position also?

Thanks for that. I wired as in the diagram, but, I'll give it a try before the night is over and I'll post the results.

Did what you suggested and worked great. I understand the humbucker thing but have no clue whatever why it affected the voluum settings. Anyway as I said it worked great. Thanks!

Might be worth putting a pull switch pot in there to add another tone to your arsenal?

Great idea, anything I plan to do with wiring means my hands are shaking, but, when I have the time I'll give it a try.
