Questions regarding 90's reissue SF II

I just pulled out my 90's reissue SFII and have a couple of questions.

1st - I assumed that all reissues were maple laminate but mine is black, so I never really thought about it. while cleaning it up today I took a look at the label and found a surprise. Under Model, it says "SF2 B BLK, MAHOG" So I guess mine's mahogany. Is this unusual?

Secondly, I have no idea what year it really is. I've always just thought it was from the year I bought it, but now I'm not so sure. The serial number is AG100116. I couldn't find it in the official guild pdf. Any ideas on exact year of manufacture?

Hello LA,

No, that is not unusual. Many were done in mahogany. I believe member idealassets has (or had) one as well, but it had a dark red finish, so I'm not 100% sure.

The bass was manufactured during 1998.
