Hello all, I'm considering buying a lovely (looking) X-160 w a Bigsby, but I know very little about this particular model. I have a fair knowledge of Guilds prior to '75 thanks to personal experience and Hans's fine book, but as this is a more recent guitar, can anyone fill me in on their take on this model? Thanks very much in advance!

best, Nathan

Those 160s sure look good to me. A lot of them have that peachy sunburst that you don't get with any other guitar. Like most recent Guild starchtops, these are ridiculously cheap. The De"Armond reissue pups don't twang like the originals, but they have a smooth P90 sound.

I don't see how you could go wrong with one of these.

Nathan, if this is the DeArmond equipped Rockabilly model, it's essentially a souped up X-150. Same body, different hardware.

If an older humbucker equipped model, they were also called Savoy, but I believe they were a dressed down version of the X-175. Or was it that they were the pre-cursor to the X-170? Hans had answered that here once upon a time.
