I don't even need it, it's just that I know I can't do it. Woody wanted his changed I think, but I was just being snarky about your use of the word "some"..... you know? It's like you don't even want or need whiskey, until someone tells you you can't have it......

So this is not a permissions thing that I can see. You all have permission to edit your sigs:

As of right now I don't see why this is happening. I rebuilt one of the caches that might have an impact. Let me know if that did anything. Otherwise I'll keep digging.

I think you all have that menu on the far left side if you click on your name and then select "account details" but the list on the left will be missing "Preferences" between "Privacy" and "Following". That's the difference for me. Click on your name, then go down half-way on the window and click on ACCOUNT DETAILS. That should get you this menu that's missing the "Signatures" option.

OK, I created a new user from scratch and that user can edit sigs:

That means there's something more complicated going on here.

It's working now! The "Signature is in the box you show above as soon as you click on your name. And now it's also in the list if you click on "Account details.!

Thanks!

So, for those curious, the issue was that for the general membership usergroup editing signatures was permitted, but the allowed characters in the sigs was set to zero, so the software must have been smart enough to disallow editing based on that fact.

That sounds like a tricky one to catch. Well done, sir, and thank you again.

Just now, I tried to (insert image) a photo in a post, and I got "file too large for the server to process" message. Tried "Attach file" and got the same thing. Weirdly, I have done it before! It was a photo I took with my phone, i.e. nothing "different" about it. What am I missing?

The max size of an image is 2MB and 2000x2000 resolution. Photo sizes can vary greatly depending on the content of the image.

My phone camera sometimes decides to take and save an image at high resolution. I'm sure I could learn to understand and control when and why it happens but I have not. So something did change to make the image larger but it wasn't something you were explicitly aware of. IMO.

Thanks! I just redid it - posted a pic to the "T-shirt" eBay thread, and for some reason it worked today! I had an option of "full size" or "thumbail" so I made it a thumbnail, which worked fine.
